UFC Fight Night 101: Whittaker vs Brunson Date: November 26, 2016 Arena: Rod Laver Arena City: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia for the second time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 101: Whittaker vs Brunson. The event will be featuring a 13-fight card that is set to kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30pm, and prelims will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm, which will culminate into the main card on the same channel at 10pm. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are currently made available at Several Bookmakers. Here is my parlay: Lightweight bout: Jon Tuck (-150) vs Damien Brown (+140) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe Tuck is the superior mixed martial artist heading into this 155-pound contest. I see him getting the better of Brown everywhere in this contest and think this fight will play out on the mat for the majority of the three rounds, with Tuck either in top control or having Brown’s back, forcing Brown to defend submissions en route to the judges’ scorecards. I think it is 50/50 as to whether Tuck manages to finish this fight or not. Should he fail to secure the finish, I think he will earn a convincing, one-sided unanimous decision win on the cards following three rounds of lightweight action. Coming off a split decision loss to Team Alpha Male’s Josh Emmitt, I believe Tuck will get back into the win column with a dominant performance in this match-up. Gabe’s Call: Tuck by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Flyweight bout: Richard Walsh (+120) vs Jonathan Meunier (-140) Gabe’s Thoughts: Walsh gets a home fight after coming off a unanimous decision loss to Viscardi Andrade and will look to get back into the win column in front of his fellow Australians by taking out the French-Canadian Meunier. The TriStar product suffered a third round rear naked choke submission loss to Colby Covington in his promotional debut earlier this year and will be looking for his first taste of UFC victory when he squares off against the Australian on enemy territory in Melbourne. Meunier is the superior striking heading into this 170-pound contest and I see him getting the better of Walsh on the feet, and while Walsh has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu compared to Meunier’s blue belt, I don’t necessarily give Walsh the edge in grappling in this contest. I think the French-Canadian is capable of winning the grappling exchanges in this contest and would not be the least surprised to see him outgrapple Walsh. I think it is 50/50 as to whether he secures a finish against the resilient and durable Australian. Should he fail to put Walsh away, I think he will have done enough to earn a convincing unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards. Gabe’s Call: Meunier by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Tuck (-150) and Meunier (-140) at +185 for 4.9u to win 9.1u
