Matchup against Yao Zhikui Jenel Lausa makes his UFC debut against Chinese fighter Yao Zhikui. Lausa will absolutely have an advantage on the feet. He’s surely the more technical striker with bigger punching power. Furthermore, he will have a big athletic advantage in this fight. What Lausa needs to concern himself with in this fight is Zhikui’s takedown attempts. Zhikui is focused on the takedown and will be looking for it throughout the fight. If Zhikui gets Lausa to the ground he will be able to score points with top control. Outside of that, this is Lausa’s fight to lose. Look for Lausa to land enough on the feet and combine that with stuffing Zhikui’s takedown attempts to win a decision. UFC Ceiling Jenel Lausa is a decent offensive mixed martial artist. He has a good boxing skill set and uses his athleticism well to complete takedowns. However, he’s rather reckless defensively. He’s hittable on the feet and his takedown defense is still very much a work in progress. He still has room to grow as a fighter and is still pretty green entering the UFC.
