UFC Fight Night 99: Mousasi vs Hall II Date: November 19, 2016 Arena: SSE Arena Belfast City: Belfast, Northern Ireland The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Belfast, Northern Ireland with UFC Fight Night 99: Mouasi vs Hall II. The UFC will be in Belfast for the second time in promotional history and first since UFC 72 in 2007. The 14-fight card will air entirely on UFC Fight Pass, with preliminary action starting at 12:15pm ET and the main card following at 4pm. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakers. My Over/Under Totals are: Featherweight bout: Artem Lobov (+210) vs Teruto Ishihara (-250) Gabe’s Thoughts: Both of these 145-pounders throw bombs and I think that’s just what they will do to start off this fight, until one of them drops. I see heavy leather flying all over the place soon after the opening bell and I won’t be surprised to see one of these gentlemen laying on the mat with the referee standing over him before the one minute mark of this contest. Lobov and Ishihara both have good chins and are tough to put away, but I expect bombs to fly and one of their chins should ultimately give out. I think Lobov holds some value at his current underdog price tag of +210, however I am going to avoid playing him there and will instead take the Total of Under 1.5 rounds, as I think it is the safer play. Shoud Ishihara be the one to connect and get his hand raised, the wager would still cash. I think the two most likely outcomes to this featherweight affair are both fighters winning by T/KO within the opening stanza, so I think the Under is the right move here. Gabe’s Call: Ishihara by T/KO (punches, 0:43 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 1.5 rounds (+150) 2u to win 3u Bantamweight bout: Brett Johns (-210) vs Kwan Ho Kwak (+175) Gabe’s Thoughts: Both bantamweights wll be making their UFC debuts in this contest. They are both solid prospects who could potentially go far in the division. I think this is a close fight and do think KHK holds some betting value at his current offering underdog pricetag of +175, however I opted to pass playing him and am instead taking the Total of Over 2.5 rounds at -190. The reason for that is because I think this is a close fight and despite who gets his hand raised, I think it will come past the two and a half round mark much more often than not. As for my official pick, I keep going back and forth and would likely need to see the weigh-ins and official staredowns until making up my mind. Gabe’s Call: Johns by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 2.5 rounds (-190) 3.8u to win 2u
