For the first time in two years, the UFC will be running two events on the same day. A week after UFC 205, the Octagon will be present in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Sao Paolo, Brazil. Along with one of Bellator’s bigger fights taking place on the same night (Michael Chandler vs. Benson Henderson), November 19th will be one of the busiest days of the year in MMA. The two cards are headlined by a pair of rematches. Fight Night 99 will see Gegard Mousasi look to avenge his shocking upset loss to Uriah Hall. Mousasi closed as a -400 favorite in their first meeting, and he looked to have the bout well in hand through the first round. However, Hall landed a massive spinning kick followed up with a flying knee and punches, and that spelled the end for Mousasi. This time around the odds are even higher, as Mousasi has put together three dominant performances, which have erased the memory of that first loss in the minds of bettors. Mousasi currently sits as a -550 favorite (bet $550 to win $100) at Several Bookmakers, with the comeback on Hall at +400 (bet $100 to win $400). The Belfast card will also see Scottish fighter Stevie Ray try to rebound from his first UFC loss, as he takes on English striker Ross Pearson. Pearson has dropped his last two fights — and three of his last four — but may have caught a bit of a break here, as Ray is coming in on short notice to replace James Krause. The main card also features a heavyweight bout between Timothy Johnson and former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov, who is making his UFC debut here. The opening bout of the main card will showcase a local favorite, and a man who has quickly established himself as one of the premier characters in the UFC. The flowy Artem Lobov will square off with Teruto “Sexyhara” Ishihara in what is shaping up as a fun featherweight bout. MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting lines for the main card of UFC Fight Night 99 today at Several Bookmakers. Take a look: ——————– UFC Fight Night 99: Hall vs. Mousasi 2 NOVEMBER 19, 2016 SSE Arena Belfast | Belfast, Northern Ireland MAIN CARD (UFC Fight Pass) Uriah Hall +340 Gegard Mousasi -465 Over 2.5 -150 Under 2.5 +110 – Stevie Ray +150 Ross Pearson -190 Over 2.5 -170 Under 2.5 +130 – Timothy Johnson +110 Alexander Volkov -150 Over 1.5 -180 Under 1.5 +140 – Artem Lobov +180 Teruto Ishihara -260 Over 1.5 -155 Under 1.5 +115 – ——————– The other headliner on the 19th takes place in the light heavyweight division, as Ryan Bader hopes to build off of his KO over Ilir Latifi against a man he defeated back in 2010. Seemingly on the last legs of his career, Nogueira scored a KO over Patrick Cummins in his last outing, and he’ll have the Brazilian fans in his corner as he looks to do the same to Bader. Bader was a -170 favorite in their first meeting — which was just his 12th MMA bout — and will be much higher here given the improvements he’s made, Nogueira’s age, and how their UFC 119 fight went down. The co-main event of Fight Night 100 should be an entertaining one, as Thomas Almeida attempts to bounce back after his first career loss against Albert Morales. Almeida is always looking to put offense on his opponents, and Morales showed a willingness to throw down in his UFC debut as well. The second-best strawweight in the world begins her climb towards a third fight with champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, as Claudia Gadelha squares off with a surging Cortney Casey. Gadelha’s eyes will certainly be on the strawweight title bout at UFC 205, but in the back of her mind she has to be hoping that Jedrzejczyk gets upset, as that will drastically reduce her road to another title shot. The other two main card bouts on Fight Night 100 see Brazilians looking to stop a pair of impressive winning streaks. At middleweight, Krzysztof Jotko brings a four-fight winning streak into the Octagon against former title challenger Thales Leites. One division down, TUF 21 winner Kamaru Usman takes on TUF Brazil 3 winner Warlley Alves in the hopes of extending his seven-fight winning streak. The last time Alves faced a top wrestler, however, the bout was over in 86 seconds as his dangerous guillotine caught Colby Covington.
