Fights to Avoid Betting for UFC 204

Jimi ManuwaUFC 204 Date: October 8, 2016 Arena: Manchester Arena City: Manchester, England The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads back to Mancheste, England for the fourth time in promotional history with UFC 204: Bisping vs Henderson II. The 12-fight card is set to kick off preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30pm and will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm. Main card action will be live on Pay Per View at 10pm. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakers. My Fights to AVOID betting are: Light Heavyweight bout: Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa (+135) vs Ovince St Preux (-155) Gabe’s Thoughts: This should be a fun fight in the UFC’s light heavyweight division and contrary to popular opinion, I am not so convinced OSP will win, or should be such a favorite, even. I think this is a coin-flip fight that could easily go either way and at these odds, I think we have a “dog or pass” situation at our hands. After wrestling with it for a while, I have ultimately decided to make a pass on a play here and just enjoy this one without having my pocket invested. I am a fan of both of these 205-pounders and they should put on a show when they go toe to toe on Saturday night. I say avoid this one at the sportsbooks this weekend, folks. Gabe’s Call: Manuwa by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Bantamweight bout: Brad “One Punch” Pickett (+145) vs Iuri Alcantara (-165) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a pairing of two veterans in the UFC’s 135-pound division and both fighters generally put on exciting fights when they step foot inside the Octagon, and I expect this one to be no different. I think it’s a close fight to call and see slight value on Pickett at the current underdog price of +145, especially with the fight being in his backyard of Manchester, but after much consideration, I have decided to stay away. If you’re going to make a bet on this fight, I think you have to take the homedown dog, but for me personally, the value isn’t enough to tempt a play out of me. I think we are best off avoiding this one at the sportsbook come Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Pickett by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
