Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 105 Opening Odds:
- In the main event of UFC Vegas 105, we have Lerone Murphy taking on Josh Emmett in a key featherweight bout. Murphy is 7-0-1 in the UFC since he joined the promotion in 2019, and a win over Emmett would send him into the upper echelon at 145 lbs. As for Emmett, he joined the UFC in 2016 and has a 10-4 record while fighting the best guys in the world for several years. This should be a great fight, and the winner will be highly regarded in the UFC featherweight title picture. The oddsmakers opened Murphy as a big betting favorite to win this fight, but you can never count Emmett out of winning here.
- We have featherweights Joanderson Brito and Pat Sabatini meeting in the co-main event. Brito is 5-2 in the UFC and recently saw his five-fight win streak snapped when he lost a controversial split decision to William Gomis in his last fight. As for Sabatini, he is 6-2 in the UFC and most recently submitted Jonathan Pearce in his last fight. This should be a competitive matchup between two solid grapplers, but the oddsmakers opened up Birto as a small betting favorite to win.
