Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Mexico Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Mexico sees former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno battle Steve Erceg for five rounds or less. Moreno is coming off a fantastic performance against Amir Albazi, where he dominated the entire fight and picked up a key win. As for Erceg, after a close loss to the champ Alexandre Pantoja, he was brutally KOed by Kai Kara-France in his last fight. Still, the bookies opened Erceg up as a very slight favorite here.
- In the co-main event, we have Drew Dober taking on Manuel Torres in an exciting lightweight contest. Dober has been in the UFC for over a decade at this point and is always in fun fights, but he has regressed lately, losing three of his last four bouts overall, albeit to solid competition. As for Torres, he saw his undefeated UFC three-fight win streak snapped when he was brutally knocked out by Ignacio Bahamondes last year. That being said, he is still super talented and can’t be counted out. Still, Dober is as tough as they come, and even though he appears to be on a decline, the bookies slightly favor him to win this matchup.
