Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Seattle Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Seattle features former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo against Song Yadong. Cejudo is coming off a decision loss to current champion Merab Dvalishvili and hasn’t won a five since 2020. As for Song, he lost a decision to Petr Yan almost a year ago, which snapped a two-fight win streak. This should be an excellent fight between two fighters who are trying to get to title contention at 135 lbs. Still, given he has been far more active in recent years and is the younger fighter, the books opened Song as the favorite. That being said, you can’t count Cejudo out of winning this fight, and he is a live dog.
- Also on the card, we have Anthony Hernandez taking on Brendan Allen in an important middleweight bout. Hernandez is on a nice win streak right now and he has been dominant in his wins, looking like a future champion at 185 lbs. As for Allen, he was on a long win streak of his own but lost to Nassourdine Imavov in his last fight, although that loss doesn’t look so bad in hindsight. Given how dominant Hernandez has been lately, it makes sense he is favored.
