Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 311 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC 311 is a five-round lightweight title fight between champion Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan. This is a rematch after the two fighters first met six years ago, with Makhachev defeating Tsarukyan in his UFC debut by decision. Six years later, Makhachev is now the champion and Tsarukyan is the challenger for the belt. They are both phenomenal fighters and this should be an incredible match. Still, you have to favor the champ to get the win here. Makhachev is arguably the top P4P fighter in the sport today and there is no reason to fade him against anyone, including someone as talented as Tsarukyan.
- Also on the card is a UFC bantamweight title fight for five rounds between champion Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili has won his last 11 fights in a row and took the title in his last match against Sean O’Malley. As for Nurmagomedov, he is 6-0 in the UFC and has looked better and better every time he has stepped into the cage. Despite being the challenger, Nurmagomedov is the favorite here and it makes sense given he has shown essentially no flaws in his game thus far.
