Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Dana White’s Contender Series 76:
- For the final episode of this year’s edition of Dana White’s Contender Series, we again have five fights, including a middleweight bout between Heraldo Souza and Nick Klein. Souza has gone unbeaten over his last six fights entering this bout, while Klein has won two fights in a row. Souza was supposed to fight two other opponents who both withdrew, so Klein is actually the third fighter stepping into face him. Given the short notice, it is understandable that Klein is the underdog in this fight. That being said, the odds look a bit too high given how unproven both fighters are. Souza should be favored here, but the opening odds were a bit high, and since they opened, some early action has come in on the dog Klein, which is understandable.
- Also on the card is a flyweight bout between Nick Piccininni and Luis Gurule. Piccinninni is coming off a win over Jack Duffy earlier this year on Contender Series, but he was not signed to the promotion given it was a controversial decision. As for Gurule, he is unbeaten and comes into this fight as the Fury FC flyweight champion. Piccininni has earned the status of favorite here given his previous DWCS experience but Gurule is a very solid prospect and this fight should be very competitive.
