Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Paris Opening Odds:
- The main event sees Benoit Saint Denis take on Renato Moicano in a five-round lightweight bout. Saint Denis is coming off a knockout loss to Dustin Poirier which snapped a five-fight win streak for the Frenchman after moving down to lightweight. Moicano, on the other hand, is coming off a huge knockout win over Jalin Turner and overall he has won his last three fights in a row. It makes sense that Saint Denis is favored here at home, but don’t discredit Moicano.
- In the co-main event, Brendan Allen fights Nassourdine Imavov in an important middleweight bout. Allen has won seven straight fights and has been looking like one of the top contenders at 185 lbs. If he wins one or two more fights, the UFC is going to have to consider giving him a title fight. Imavov has also been impressive, having defeated Jared Cannonier and Roman Dolidze in his last two fights. Overall, this is a very well-matched bout between two of the best middleweights in the sport. However, even though Imavov is fighting at home in France and matches up well stylistically, you have to favor Allen slightly due to his win streak.
