Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 301 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC 301 sees UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja defend his title against Steve Erceg. Pantoja has been in the UFC for a long time now and he has been one of the best flyweights for many years. He enters this fight on a five-fight win streak and has looked great inside the cage. As for Erceg, he has won his first three fights in the UFC to get this unexpected title shot. While Erceg has a puncher’s chance, you have to go with Pantoja to defend his belt due to his UFC experience.
- In the co-main event, Jonathan Martinez takes on the legend, Jose Aldo. Martinez has won his last six fights in a row and has looked amazing as of late. As for Aldo, he is a former long-time UFC champion who is returning to the Octagon and doing boxing for the last few years. This is a close fight on paper, but with Martinez being younger and having more momentum, he is the favorite to win here.
