Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 170:
- The main event of Cage Warriors 170 features James Sheehan against Daniel Konrad for the vacant CWFC welterweight belt. Sheehan has won six of his last eight fights overall, with the two losses during that period coming against Ian Machado Garry and Oban Elliott — both of whom are currently in the UFC. As for Konrad, he is making his CWFC debut here after having won his last four fights. Due to Sheehan’s CWFC experience, he is a big favorite to win here.
- The co-main event of Cage Warriors 170 sees Paul Hughes take on Fabiano Silva in a 160 lbs catchweight bout. Hughes has won his last four fights in a row, which includes a notable win over current UFC fighter Morgan Cherriere. He is a very talented fighter and someone who still has a chance of making it to the UFC one day. As for Silva, he is coming off a loss in his last fight and he took this fight on short notice. Credit to Silva for filling in and stepping up when the promotion needed him, but Hughes is the clear favorite to get his hand raised in this fight.
