Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 167:
- The main event of Cage Warriors 167 is a welterweight bout between Stefano Paterno and Scottie Stockman. Paterno is coming off three straight wins in the OKCTAGON and Venator FC promotions. He has also fought for Bellator and also for CWFC, where he has a 1-1 record in the promotion. As for Stockman, this fight marks his debut fighting for CWFC after previously competing in promotions such as PFL and BFL. The oddsmakers have set Paterno as the betting favorite for this fight, which makes sense considering he has far more high-level experience, although Stockman isn’t a slouch in that area by any means.
- In the co-main event, we have Omeil Brown taking on Rafael Aronov at welterweight. Brown has fought his entire career in the CWFC promotion, going 6-3 in the organization, including all six of his wins in Cage Warriors coming by way of stoppage. As for Aronov, his last fight came under the CWFC banner and he picked up a finish in that fight. Given that Brown has fought many more times in CWFC, it makes sense that the oddsmakers have him favored here from the beginning. That being said, his record is inconsistent, so there is certainly a chance that Aronov can pull off the betting upset in this fight.
