Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 168:
- The main event of Cage Warriors 168 is a CWFC light heavyweight title bout between Andy Clamp and Matthew Byfield. Clamp is 1-1 in Cage Warriors and he finished his last fight to get this title shot. As for Byfield, he is 3-0, 1 NC in CWFC, having won his last three fights in a row to get this title shot. Clamp has more experience overall, which is likely why he opened as the favorite here, but the odds are close and Byfield certainly has a chance to pull off the upset.
- Also on the card is a CWFC bantamweight title bout between Liam Gittins and Roberto Hernandez. Gittins has fought for most of his career in Cage Warriors, and he is currently riding a five-fight win streak in the promotion. He is also the defending champion in this bout, having won his last fight by decision to claim the belt against Reece McEwan. As for Hernandez, he has won his last seven fights in a row for Cage Warriors, including a win over UFC veteran Trevin Jones in his last outing. The oddsmakers set this fight as a Pick ’em with the opening line, indicating this is a close fight to call between two talented prospects.
