Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Atlantic City Opening Odds:
- The main event is a five-round women’s flyweight bout between Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot, which could very well serve as a title eliminator between two of the best contenders in the weight class. Both Blanchfield and Fiorot are a perfect 6-0 in the UFC, so this is a fantastic fight on paper. Blanchfield is coming off a solid decision win over Taila Santos in his last fight, while Fiorot is coming off a nice decision win over Namajunas. The oddsmakers opened up the betting odds as a Pick ’em but the early money has been coming in on Blanchfield so far.
- Also on the card is a middleweight bout between former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and Bruno Silva. Weidman has struggled in recent years and he comes into this fight with four losses in his last five bouts. Silva, too, has struggled in recent years, having lost four of his last five bouts as well. That being said, at least Silva has been somewhat competitive in his fights. You just have to fade Weidman here, which is why Silva opened as the betting favorite.
