Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 177:
- The main event of LFA 177 is an interim LFA welterweight title bout between Devin Smyth and Shamidkhan Magomedov. Smyth is coming off an amazing spinning wheel kick KO in his last fight, a victory that snapped a two-fight losing skid, which included a defeat to former UFC fighter Brok Weaver on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019. He also has a win over current UFC fighter Darrius Flowers on his resume. As for Magomedov, the Russian has won his last four fights in a row, including two straight victories in LFA. This should be a great title fight, but you have to lean toward Magomedov to win, and the odds indicate just that.
- The co-main event of LFA 177 sees the LFA women’s flyweight championship on the line with Shannon Clark taking on Thaiany Lopes. Clark is unbeaten so far in her MMA career with a 4-0 record, including a victory in LFA in her last bout. As for Lopes, she is also unbeaten with a perfect 5-0 record as a pro, with her previous bouts taking place in her native Brazil. The odds are very close for this fight as it should be a competitive bout for the women’s 125 lbs title.
