Road To UFC: Las Vegas takes place on Saturday, February 3 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The offshore sportsbooks recently opened up the betting odds for the event, and MMAOB staff writer Adam Martin takes a look at the opening odds below.
Road To UFC: Las Vegas Odds
Rongzhu -145
Shin Haraguchi +125
Yizha -275
Kaiwen +235
Rei Tsuruya -225
Jiniushiyue +190
Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Road To UFC: Las Vegas:
- The lightweight final sees Rongzhu take on Shin Haraguchi. Rongzhu previously went 1-2 in the UFC before being cut. Since then, he is 3-0 with one win in UAE Warriors and two wins in Road to UFC. With another victory in this lightweight final fight, he should get another shot in the UFC. As for Haraguchi, he is unbeaten with a perfect 7-0 record, including a 2-0 mark in the Road to UFC. Rongzhu is more experienced, but Haraguchi’s wrestling may give him problems here, which is why you see the betting line for this fight so close right now.
- The featherweight final sees Yizha take on Kaiwen. Yizha fought once in the UFC already, losing to JeongYeong Lee by split decision last year. In the Road to UFC, he has a 3-1 record. As for Kaiwen, he has a 2-1 record in the Road to UFC and he fought for ONE Championship before that. Yizha is a big favorite to win this fight and it seems justified based on his record.
- Finally, the flyweight final sees Rei Tsuruya take on Jiniushiyue. Tsuruya is unbeaten with a perfect 8-0 record which includes a 2-0 mark in the Road to UFC. As for Jiniushiyue, he is 2-0 in the Road to UFC. This should be an intriguing matchup at 125 lbs but Tsuruya opened as a decent-sized favorite here to come away with the victory in this fight.
