Here are my quick thoughts on the 2023 PFL Europe Playoffs:
- The main event is a featherweight bout between Nathan Kelly and Dimitry Solimeis. Kelly has won his last eight fights in a row, including three wins in PFL and a win in Bellator during that stretch. He has looked very impressive and a big win here should set him up nicely for the next PFL featherweight tournament. As for Solimeis, he lost his last bout but he had won four straight fights before that. Kelly is the clear favorite here and should be able to get the win.
- Also on the card are the PFL debuts of two former UFC fighters, Brett Johns and Tom Breese. Johns is moving up to featherweight and he takes on David Tonatiuh Crol. Johns went 2-1 in Bellator before being released by the promotion. As for Crol, he is unbeaten over his last four bouts. Johns should win and he is a clear favorite to do so. As for the welterweight Breese, he takes on Cleiton Silva. Breese is 5-1 since leaving the UFC two years ago, showing his potential in the sport. As for Silva, he won his last fight by KO. Again, Breese is a clear favorite.
