Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 165:
- In the main event, Roberto Hernandez meets Trevin Jones. Hernandez has won his last eight fights in a row, which includes a perfect 6-0 record in Cage Warriors, with three wins by stoppage. As for Jones, he defeated Wilson Reis via split decision in his last fight and it was a win that snapped a four-fight losing skid in the UFC. Hernandez has been way hotter lately and Jones is still very inconsistent. You have to lean toward Hernandez in this fight to get the win just based on momentum, even though Jones has fought a higher level of competition.
- In the co-main event, it’s another bantamweight bout, this one between Wilson Reis and Ricky Bandejas. Reis has been around the sport for a very long time and he has a 3-1 record since joining Cage Warriors. He lost a split decision to Jones in his last bout, after having won three fights in a row prior to that loss. As for Bandejas, he is coming off a No Contest in XMMA in his last fight and he is 2-4, 1 NC overall in his last seven bouts. Bandejas is the younger fighter but it’s hard to pick him here just based on his losing skid, so go with the veteran Reis to win.
