Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 82 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 82 is a five-round middleweight bout between Brendan Allen and Paul Craig. Allen has won his last five fights in a row, including back-to-back wins over Bruno Silva and Andre Muniz by rear-naked choke submission. As for Craig, he recently made his middleweight debut and beat the aforementioned Muniz by ground and pound TKO. He looked great in that fight, and he has big wins throughout his MMA career over the likes of Jamahal Hill and Magomed Ankalaev, so some may consider him a live dog in this matchup.
- The co-main event of UFC Vegas 82 is a welterweight bout between top prospect Michael Morales and veteran Jake Matthews. Morales has won his last three fights in a row since joining the UFC, including a notable victory over tough vet Max Griffin in his last bout. Matthews, meanwhile, is coming off a win over Darrius Flowers in his last bout by stoppage, but overall he has been inconsistent in the UFC. This is a fight that Morales should win, which is why he is the favorite in the betting odds, despite Matthews having more UFC experience.
