Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 172:
- The main event of LFA 172 is a flyweight title bout between champion Cody Davis and challenger Eduardo Henrique. Davis has won his last three fights in a row since his lone career defeat back in July 2022. If he wins this fight and defends his belt, then there is certainly a chance the UFC could sign him to a contract. As for Henrique, he is coming off a win in his last bout and he has won six of his last seven fights overall. He is also a Jungle Fight veteran as well. Given Davis likely has the wrestling advantage in this fight, you have to lean his way to get the win, although it will certainly be interesting to see how this fight plays out.
- The co-main event of LFA sees Ivan Tena take on Lerryn Douglas at featherweight. Tena has won his last two bouts including a victory in LFA his last time out. As for Douglas, he is coming off a head kick loss in LFA and he has lost two of his last three fights overall. This should be another interesting fight, but just the fact Tena has some momentum behind him right now means he should be favored in this contest, which is why the betting odds are shifted his way.
