Here are my quick thoughts on the Noche UFC: Opening Odds:
- The main event of Noche UFC is a rematch between UFC women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and the woman she beat earlier this year for the belt, Valentina Shevchenko. Although Shevchenko was slightly ahead on the scorecards in their first fight, she was submitted by Grasso and lost her belt. Now, six months later, they rematch with the belt on the line once again. Grasso is the underdog once again in this rematch, albeit not as big of an underdog as she was in their first meeting. Shevchenko is one of the greatest women’s MMA fighters of all time, but it’s possible that she has seen her best days and that Shevchenko is now the best fighter in the weight class. Based on these opening odds, this one is dog or pass for a bet.
- As for the co-main event, we have veteran Kevin Holland taking on Jack Della Maddalena at welterweight in a very fun fight. Holland is coming off of a submission win over Michael Chiesa, while Maddalena defeated Basil Haffez by split decision. The oddsmakers opened up Maddalena as a very slight favorite for this bout, but Holland is a tough out for anyone at 170.
