Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 159:
- The main event of CWFC 159 is a bantamweight bout between two former UFC fighters, Trevin Jones and Wilson Reis. Jones enters this fight coming off four straight losses, including a defeat to former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt in his last bout. His last win came all the way back in March 2021 when he knocked out Mario Bautista, who is doing great things in the UFC right now. As for Reis, he has won his last three fights while competing for CWFC. Both of these fighters are talented, but Jones is five years younger, so it’s no surprise to see him favored here. Overall, this should be a very good fight between two solid talents.
- Also on the card is a featherweight bout between Roberto Hernandez and Toby Misech. Hernandez is riding a seven-fight win streak, including five straight wins in CWFC. Misech, meanwhile, has won his last two fights in MMA, although he’s also been knocked out twice in bare-knuckle fighting during that time. It’s another solid fight on this CWFC card, but you have to lean toward Hernandez to win. He has been on a huge roll as of late and there is no reason to think he won’t be victorious again, hence him being a big favorite to win.
