Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Paris Opening Odds:
- The headliner of UFC Paris is a five-round heavyweight bout between Ciryl Gane and Serghei Spivac. Gane is coming off a quick submission loss to UFC heavyweight champion in a failed bid to defeat the GOAT, but he remains one of the best fighters in his weight class. As for Spivac, he is coming into this fight off three straight finishes, including a submission win over Derrick Lewis in his last fight. Overall, this is a very intriguing matchup on paper between two of the best fighters in the UFC heavyweight division. Gane is an excellent fighter who excels in striking, but Spivac has fantastic grappling and can win this fight on the ground if it goes there.
- Also on the card is a women’s flyweight bout between Manon Fiorot and Rose Namajunas. Fiorot is unbeaten in the UFC with a 5-0 record that includes a decision win over Katlyn Chookagian in her last bout. As for Namajunas, she is moving up to 125 lbs for this fight following a bad loss to Carla Esparza her last time out. Again, this looks like a competitive fight on paper, but the oddsmakers have given the hometown fighter Fiorot the slight lean to win.
