Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL 2023: Week 8:
- Headlining the PFL 8 card is a heavyweight bout between Renan Ferreira and Maurice Greene. Ferreira just knocked out Matheus Scheffel in his last fight to bounce back into the win column after having not won his previous two bouts. As for Greene, he is coming off of a decision loss to Ante Delija. Overall, this should be your typical heavyweight fight that ends inside the distance. Given Ferreira’s superior knockout power and grappling skills, it makes sense that he is a big favorite to win this fight, especially since Greene is so inconsistent.
- Also on the card is a women’s featherweight bout between Larissa Pacheco and Olena Kolesnyk. Pacheco won the promotion’s lightweight tournament last year and overall she has won her last eight fights in a row, with her last defeat coming way back in 2019. As for Kolesnyk, she has won four fo her last five fights heading into this bout, including her last two in a row. While Kolesnyk has been doing well as fo late, Pacheco is a former champion for a reason and she has tons of experience against high-level competition. You have to lean toward Pacheco to win this fight, and not surprisingly she is a massive favorite to do so.
