Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 298:
- In a welterweight main event, Logan Storley fights Brennan Ward. Storley lost to Bellator welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov in his last fight but he had won three straight fights before that. He is still one of the best wrestlers in his weight class and he has grind out victories. As for Ward, he has won his last three fights in a row by knockout after taking a long break from the sport. Storley’s wrestling should lead him to a victory in this main event fight, and that’s why you see him open up here as a big favorite despite Ward’s knockout power.
- As for the co-main event, it’s Valentin Moldavsky against Steve Mowry at heavyweight. Moldavsky enters this bout winless in his last three matches, while Mowry is winless in his last two. It’s worth noting these two fought last year and the fight ended via No Contest due to an accidental eye poke. Let’s just say that we hope that this rematch actually plays out this time.
