Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC London Opening Odds:
- The main event for UFC London features heavyweights Tom Aspinall and Marcin Tybura. Aspinall is returning to the cage for the first time since last summer when he lost via injury TKO to Curtis Blaydes. Prior to that loss, he was unbeaten in the UFC and looking very much like a future heavyweight title contender. As for Tybura, he is coming off two straight wins over Blagoy Ivanov and Alexandr Romanov. While Tybyra has looked good as of late, Aspinall is the superior talent overall, and he deserves to be the clear-cut favorite to win this main-event fight.
- As for the co-main event, it’s a women’s flyweight bout between Molly McCann and Julija Stoliarenko. McCann was on a huge rise up the women’s 125lbs rankings before losing to Erin Blanchfield in her last fight. As for Stoliarenko, she has a 1-5 record in the UFC and she is coming off a lopsided TKO loss to Chelsea Chandler in her last outing. It will be interesting to see if she can even successfully make 125lbs. While Stoliarenko has a nasty armbar, McCann is better everywhere else and deserves to be favored here.
