Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 75 Opening Odds:
- Headling UFC Vegas 75 is a five-round middleweight bout between top contenders Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier. Vettori is coming off of a close decision win over Roman Dolidze in his last fight, while Cannonier is coming off of a split decision win over Sean Strickland. Both men have proven that they are top-five fighters in the weight class, and both guys are still hoping to get another title fight one day, making a win here extremely important for both of their careers. Cannonier opened up as the betting favorite, but the betting odds quickly got closed, and the odds heading into this weekend’s bout see this main event as a Pick ’em.
- Also ont he card is a lightweight bout between Arman Tsarukyan and Joaquim Silva, which could potentially be a blowout. Tsarukyan is one of the best fighters in the weight class, but no one really wants to fight him, and the UFC had to really dig deep to find Silva, who was willing to take the fight. Silva is coming off of a nice knockout win over Jesse Ronson in his last fight, but come on. This is a mismatch, and the gigantic odds show it.
