Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 74 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 74 features a pair of highly-ranked flyweights in Kai Kara-France and Amir Albazi clashing in a five-round fight. Kara-France has not fought since last summer when he suffered a TKO loss to Brandon Moreno in a failed bid to become the new interim UFC flyweight champion, but he had won three straight fights before that. As for Albazi, he has won all four of his UFC fights so far and he appears to be a serious title threat. The oddsmakers opened up Albazi as the favorite here, but you can’t count out Kara-France.
- As for the co-main event, we have a pair of veteran featherweights Alex Caceres and Daniel Pineda clashing. Caceres has won six of his last seven fights, including a head kick win over Julian Erosa in his last bout. Pineda, meanwhile, is coming off of a submission win over Tucker Lutz. This is certainly an interesting fight to call given both men have a ton of experience in the Octagon. Caceres opened up as the betting favorite here, but Pineda is a scrappy fighter who can never be counted out of a fight.
