Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 71 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 71 is a five-round heavyweight bout between Sergei Pavlovich and Curtis Blaydes. Pavlovich has been on a huge tear as of late as he’s won his last five fights in a row by knockout and looks to be a serious contender in the UFC heavyweight division. As for Blaydes, he has proven he is one of the best heavyweights in the UFC for many years now and he has been hot as of late with three straight wins. Blaydes opened up as the betting favorite here due to his incredible wrestling skills and it’s well deserved. But Pavlovich has to be considered a live dog here just because of his huge knockout power.
- Also on the card are middleweights Brad Tavares and Bruno Silva. Tavares has been one of the top middleweight fighters in the UFC for many years now, while Silva has been solid in his Octagon appearances. That being said, Tavares opened up as the betting favorite for this.
