Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 156:
- The vacant LFA welterweight title is on the line in the main event when Trey Waters takes on Jalin Fuller. Waters is coming off of a loss to top prospect Gabriel Bonfim in Contender Series but prior to that he had won all six of his pro MMA fights, including five by stoppage. As for Fuller, he turned pro back in 2019 and he has fought eight times in LFA since then, going 8-2 overall in the promotion. Both fighters are solid prospects and the winner will be crowned the new champion. The oddsmakers opened this up as a Pick ’em, showing how close this fight is.
- In the co-main event, Ryan Lenninger fights Miguel Jacob in a welterweight bout. Lenninger is 1-2 overall in LFA, although he is coming off two straight wins in his last two outings. As for Jacob, he is 0-2 in LFA and he is coming off two straight knockout wins. This should be an exciting fight to watch given how both fighters have a lot of finishes on their resume. That being said, you have to favor Lenninger. He has had a bit more success in LFA and he opened up as the betting favorite in this bout to defeat Jacob in this exciting welterweight contest.
