Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 149:

  • The main event of LFA 149 sees Felipe Bunes against Yuma Horiuchi for the vacant LFA flyweight title. A pro since 2011, Bunes is coming off of a split decision win over Wascar Cruz in his last fight, bouncing back from a submission defeat to Jussier Formiga. As for Horiuchi, he has been a pro since 2013 and he has a 3-2 overall record fighting for LFA. Overall, this should be a very competitive fight for the vacant LFA flyweight belt. However, Horiuchi has arguably fought the better competition overall, which is why he likely opened as the betting favorite for this fight. Regardless of who wins, it should be an excellent match.
  • In the co-main event, Marcus McGhee fights Luciano Ramos in a bantamweight bout. McGhee made his pro debut in 2020 and he’s 5-1 since then with all five of his wins coming by way of knockout. He has lost only one time, which was a submission defeat in his lone LFA bout last year. Ramos, on the other hand, has been a pro dating back to 2012. He has fought once in LFA back in 2021 and he won that fight by decision. However, he has also fought several times as a pro boxer and has been knocked out multiple times. Since McGhee is a fighter with knockout power, it makes sense that he is favored to win this fight.
