Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 148:
- The vacant CWFC light heavyweight title is on the line between Modestas Bukauskas and Chuck Campbell. Bukauskas recently returned to CWFC and he picked up a decision win over Lee Chadwick. Prior to that, he was in the UFC but he only went 1-3 and got cut. If he is able to get a few more wins in CWFC, he could get back to the UFC next year. As for Campbell, he is unbeaten over his last four fights, including a knockout win over Andy Clamp in Bellator. Overall, this looks like an exciting fight between two fighters who will go for the knockout. Bukauskas is the more proven veteran and is the clear favorite here, but Campbell certainly has a puncher’s chance.
- The CWFC middleweight belt is on the line when Christian Leroy Duncan fights Jesse Taylor. Duncan is the champion and he enters this fight undefeated with nearly all of his victories coming by knockout. As for Taylor, he has won his last two fights by submission. Taylor is the best opponent that Duncan has ever fought, but you have to lean towards the undefeated Duncan to win this fight.
