Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 148:
- The main event of LFA 148 sees Chris Brown take on Alfonso Leyva for the vacant LFA welterweight title. Brown has been an LFA fighter since 2019, going 5-2 for the promotion during that time period. In his last fight, Brown defeated Haris Talundzic in an upset, and overall he has won four of his last five games. As for Leyva, he is a perfect 6-0 in MMA and he won his last fight in LFA by knockout. Overall, this looks like a very competitive fight between two fighters vying to win the vacant LFA welterweight title and looking to potentially join the UFC after that. Brown is the favorite to win this fight, but Leyva is certainly a live underdog.
- The co-main event is a featherweight bout between Danny Silva and Canaan Kawaihae. Silva is a perfect 6-0 in his MMA career and he just won his LFA debut this past summer. As for Kawaihae, he fought in LFA last year and picked up an impressive submission win. He has fought twice on Dana White’s Contender Series but lost both of his fights. After taking a year off, he is ready to get back into the cage and get his hand raised again. The unbeaten Silva opened up as the betting favorite here, but Kawaihae certainly has a chance to win this too.
