Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 288:
- The main event of Bellator 288 is a rematch between Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov and Corey Anderson. These two met earlier this year, and Anderson was winning the fight until an accidental clash of heads by Nemkov caused a cut and ended the fight, leading to a No Contest. After both men have taken some time off, they are now rematching for the title and the $1 million tournament grand prize on the line. Anderson comes into this fight riding a four-fight unbeaten streak, while Nemkov is unbeaten over his last 10 fights. This should be an excellent rematch, but given how the first fight was going until the No Contest, it makes sense that Anderson is now favored in the rematch to capture the belt.
- In the co-main event, Bellator lightweight champion Patricky Pitbull fights Usman Nurmagomedov. Pitbull finished Peter Queally to win the vacant lightweight belt last year, while Nurmagomedov is unbeaten in his career with a 15-0 record. Despite Pitbull having plenty of experience fighting in Bellator, you have to favor Nurmagomedov to win this fight.
