Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 147:
- The CWFC lightweight belt is on the line when George Hardwick takes on Chris Bungard. Hardwick is just 25 years old and the Brit is already 10-1 as a pro. In his last fight, Hardwick knocked out Kyle Driscoll to become the new CWFC lightweight champion, and this is his first title defense. He is riding a six-fight wins streak, and most of his wins as of late have come via stoppage. As for Bungard, he is 33 years old and the Scot is coming off two straight wins. Both fighters have a lot of experience but the opening line shades towards the champion Hardwick.
- Also on the card is a featherweight bout between Morgan Charriere and Daniel Bazant. Charriere is the former CWFC featherweight champion, but he enters this bout coming off two straight losses to Paul Hughes and Jordan Vucenic. Prior to that, he had pulled off three straight victories, but the 27-year-old Frenchman is ready to get back on track with a win here. As for Bazant, he enters this bout coming off three straight wins. He is 31 years old and comes from Croatia. However, it should be noted that he is making his CWFC debut in this fight. Charriere is the slightly better fighter and opened as the favorite despite the layoff.
