Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 146:
- The main event of LFA 146 sees Marcio Barbosa take on Gabriel Santos in a 145lbs tournament semi-final bout, with the winner set to get a shot at the LFA featherweight title. Starting with Barbosa, he is just 24 years old and he’s already 13-1 as a pro, with nearly all of his wins coming by way of stoppage. He is making his LFA debut in this bout. As for Santos, he is only 25 and he has a perfect 8-0 record in MMA. This will also be his LFA debut. Overall, this is a difficult bout to call since both men seem like promising prospects, but we haven’t seen them fight in the LFA cage yet. That’s likely why the opening line is essentially a Pick ’em.
- The co-main event sees Felipe Douglas take on Rangel de Sa in the lightweight division. Douglas has won his last three fights in a row and he has won seven of his last eight fights heading into this one. As for de Sa, he’s won seven of his last eight fights himself. This should also be an intriguing fight to watch play out, but Douglas opened as the betting favorite here.
