Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 144:
- The main event of LFA 144 sees Muin Gafurov battle Diego Silva for the vacant LFA bantamweight title. Gafurov is coming off of a second-round TKO win over Herbeth Sousa in his last outing for LFA, which helped him bounce back following a split decision loss to Chad Anheliger on Dana White’s Contender Series. As for Silva, he is coming off of a split decision win over Askar Askar in his last outing, which helped him rebound from a split decision defeat to Dan Argueta earlier this year. Overall, this should be a competitive fight between two solid bantamweights looking to claim a piece of gold. Gafurov, though, opened as the slight favorite.
- In the co-main event of LFA 144, we have Jordan Heiderman taking on Daiqwon Buckley at heavyweight. Heiderman is coming off of a stint on The Ultimate Fighter where he went 1-1 overall in the house. Prior to TUF, Heiderman was 5-0 as a pro with four of those wins coming in LFA. As for Buckley, he is 3-0 as a pro and he made his pro debut for LFA last year. With his name value, it makes sense that Heiderman is the favorite. However, Buckley is a live dog.
