Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL 2022: Week 9:
- For this week’s PFL card, we have both the women’s lightweights and the men’s featherweights semifinals on deck. In the men’s featherweight semifinals, we have Chris Wade taking on Brendan Loughnane and Bubba Jenkins facing off against Ryoji Kudo. Wade and Jenkins opened up as the favorites for these fights, which is understandable given both men have had solid seasons so far, not to mention plenty of experience outside of PFL. That being said, both of the underdogs in these fights have paths to victory, so don’t just expect the two favorites Wade and Jenkins to cruise. Both men are going to have to put the work in if they want to win this fight and advance to the finals.
- As for the women’s lightweight semifinals, we have Kayla Harrison against Martina Jindrova and Larissa Pacheco against Olena Kolesnyk. Both Harrison and Pacheco are big favorites to win the fight, and rightly so as both women are just simply the better fighters in their matchups. If both of them win, then the finals will be the trilogy fight for Harrison and Pacheco. Harrison already beat her twice, so it’s hard to see Pacheco winning in the trilogy if both women advance to the finals as they’re expected to.
