Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 138:
- The main event of LFA 138 features former UFC fighter Michinori Tanaka against Ary Farias at 135lbs. Tanaka is currently riding a three-fight win streak that includes a victory over Ricardo Dias in his last outing for LFA, plus a notable win over former UFC fighter Rogerio Bontorin in RIZIN. Tanaka previously fought for the UFC from 2014 to 2017 and went 2-3 during that time. Farias, meanwhile, is also an LFA veteran who is coming off a victory in his last outing. He is also a talented fighter who holds a notable victory over Johnny Campbell. Overall this looks like a competitive fight on paper, but you have to slightly favor Tanaka due to having more experience.
- In the co-main event, it’s another bantamweight bout between Askar Askar and Diego Silva. Askar is an LFA veteran who has fought five times for the promotion with a 4-1 record overall under the LFA banner. He is a very talented fighter who has fought a high level of competition and he is certainly someone who could make the UFC one day. Silva, on the other hand, is also an LFA veteran. He lost a split decision to current UFC fighter Dan Argueta in his last outing for LFA, and he has fought a high level of competition overall. This should be a competitive fight, but the oddsmakers opened up Askar as the betting favorite for this one.
