Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 283:
- The main event of Bellator 283 features welterweights Douglas Lima and Jason Jackson. This is a fantastic fight, and the winner will likely be close to getting a title shot at 170lbs. Lima is, of course, the former three-time Bellator welterweight champion, and the best fighter in the weight class in promotional history. However, he has run into trouble lately with three straight losses, and he needs to bounce back here with another win. That won’t be easy as Jackson is a very good fighter who trains at Sanford MMA. Jackson has won his last five fights in a row and looks like a top contender at 170lbs. This should be a great fight and the odds are close. Keep in mind this is a five-round bout, which is an added variable.
- The co-main event of Bellator 283 features lightweight Tofiq Musayev against Sidney Outlaw. Musayev is filling in on short notice for the injured Patricky Pitbull. He is coming off of a submission loss in RIZIN that snapped a 15-fight win streak. Outlaw, meanwhile, is 3-1 overall in Bellator and he has won his last two fights. This should be a great fight, with the oddsmakers opening it as a true Pick ’em.
