Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 137:
- The main event of LFA 137 is a featherweight bout between Hyder Amil and Chase Gibson. Amil is unbeaten in his MMA career with six victories to date, including two wins in LFA and three wins in Bellator. He looks like a very exciting prospect and deserves the chance to headline this LFA card. As for Gibson, he is also an LFA veteran who had a stint on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020. Both fighters are solid and this should be a good fight. With Amil being the unbeaten fighter, he opened up here as the betting favorite to get his hand raised.
- Also on the card is a bantamweight bout between John Sweeney and Ricardo Dias. Sweeney has won his last four fights in a row including a decision win over former UFC fighter Cole Smith in his last fight for XMMA. He also has previous experience fighting for LFA. As for Dias, he is also an LFA veteran who last lost a decision to former UFC fighter Michinori Tanaka. Both fighters are solid, but with Sweeney coming off of a win streak, he opened as the betting favorite here.
