Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 277 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC 277 is a rematch between UFC women’s bantamweight champion Julianna Pena and former champ Amanda Nunes. These two met last year at UFC 269 and Pena pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history when she was able to hurt Nunes on the feet and then submit her on the ground. The two were then paired as coaches on TUF 30, and now they will fight each other at UFC 277 in a rematch for the 135lbs title. Despite Pena winning the first fight impressively, there are still many fans who believe it was a fluke. Nunes opened up as a favorite for the rematch, albeit not as big of a favorite as in their first fight.
- As for the co-main event, it’s a rematch for the vacant UFC flyweight belt between Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France. These two previously met at UFC 269, with Moreno winning a unanimous decision in a competitive fight. Both men are at the top of their games right now, and with UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo out with an injury, the promotion paired them up in a rematch for the vacant belt, with Moreno opening as a slight betting favorite for it.
