Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC London Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC London is a five-round heavyweight bout between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blayds. Aspinall will be headlining a second straight London card after he submitted Alexander Volkov earlier this year. He appears to be a legitimate title contender in the UFC heavyweight division, and if he can get past Blaydes, then he may very well get a title shot. However, Blaydes is an elite heavyweight and this is going to be a very tough test for Aspinall. Blaydes is coming off of a huge knockout win over Chris Daukaus and he has proven himself to be one of the best in the division for many years now. The oddsmakers opened up the fight as a Pick ’em, but the line moved in Aspinall’s direction and now he is slightly favored.
- The co-main event should be a fun fight between middleweights Jack Hermansson and Chris Curtis. Hermansson is coming off of a decision loss to Sean Strickland but he defeated Edmen Shahbazyan by stoppage before that. As for Curtis, he is undefeated in the UFC and took this fight on short notice after recently defeating Rodolfo Vieira. Hermansson opened up as the favorite here, but the line quickly flipped and now Curtis is the betting favorite in this fight.
