Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Road to UFC: Singapore Episode 3:
- A notable fight taking place on this card is a women’s strawweight bout between Josefine Lindgren Knutsson and Ye Dam Seo. Knutsson is a 26-year-old Sweden native who trains at Allstars Training Center. She is a perfect 3-0 since turning pro in 2021 following a kickboxing career where she competed for K-1. In her last fight, she defeated current Bellator fighter and former TUF alum Lanchana Green. As for Seo, she is a 30-year-old South Korea native who has won her last four fights in a row. She also has a notable fight on her resume, albeit a loss to UFC standout Weili Zhang. This is definitely a solid women’s 115lbs bout and the winner could very well head to the UFC, but the unbeaten Knutsson opened up as the betting favorite.
- Also on the card is a bantamweight bout between Rinya Nakamura and Gugun Gusman. Nakamura is just 27 years of age and the Japanese wrestler comes into this fight unbeaten with all four of his pro wins coming in the past 13 months. As for Gusman, he is a 32-year-old Indonesian fighter who enters this bout on a two-fight win streak. Although Gusman has more professional MMA experience, Nakamura seems to have a ton of upside, and it’s not surprising to see him open up here as a sizeable favorite.
