Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL 2022: Week 5:
- This week’s PFL card features the next round in both the heavyweight and featherweight tournaments. At heavyweight, last year’s tournament winner Bruno Cappelozza takes on Matheus Scheffel, and this fight appears to be a mismatch. Cappelozza has won his last five fights in a row and appears to be well on his way to winning another $1 million dollar grand prize check, while Scheffel is coming off of a brutal KO loss in his last fight. PFL looks to have given Cappelozza a very favorable matchup here as he is a massive power puncher and he is taking on someone who has had his fair share of knockout losses in his MMA career. It should be an exciting fight while it lasts, but look for Cappelozza to score yet another knockout win.
- At featherweight, there are a number of intriguing matchups including Chris Wade taking on Kyle Bochniak in a battle between former UFC fighters. Although Bochniak is very tough, Wade should have the edge in the wrestling department and he is the betting favorite here.
- Also on the card is a lightweight bout between a pair of former UFC fighters in Anthony Pettis and Stevie Ray. As you’d expect, Pettis opened up as the favorite after his last performance.
