Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 140:
- The main event is a welterweight bout between Justin Burlinson and Rhys McKee. The winner will be crowned the new Cage Warriors welterweight champion. Burlinson is only 25 years old and he is coming off of a submission win for his last fight in CWFC, bouncing back from a KO loss to Yohan Lainesse on Dana White’s Contender Series. Burlinson is a very good prospect and the Bellator veteran is extremely dangerous anywhere the fight goes. As for McKee, he is also coming off of a stoppage win in CWFC, which helped him bounce back after losses to Alex Morono and Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC. The oddsmakers opened up this fight at near pick ’em odds, but I would slightly lean towards McKee due to fighting better opposition.
- The co-main event features Federico Pasquali against Harry Hardwick at featherweight. Pasquali is unbeaten at 7-0 and he won his CWFC by stoppage back in April. As for Hardwick, he is a Bellator veteran who has won his last two fights for CWFC. This should be a fun fight, but given that Pasquali is unbeaten, it’s hard not to lean in his direction since we have seen Hardwick lose before, and the oddsmakers opened him up as a very slight favorite here.
