Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 52 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 52 is a five-round women’s strawweight bout between contenders Amanda Lemos and Jessica Andrade. Lemos is currently riding a five-fight win streak, including a “Fight of the Night” victory over Angela Hill in her last outing. Lemos is a powerful puncher who has scored four knockdowns in her last four fights, which is a rare trait among fighters in this weight class. She now takes on Andrade, the former champion who is returning down to 115lbs after a 2-1 run at 125lbs. Andrade lost to the champion Valentina Shevchenko at flyweight, but she also knocked out Cynthia Calvillo and Katlyn Chookagian. Lemos is a very good fighter on the rise, but Andrade is more proven and is the favorite here.
- The co-main event sees lightweight prospect Claudio Puelles fight veteran Clay Guida. Puelles is 4-1 in the UFC and he has won his last four fights in a row. As for Guida, he is coming off of an incredible comeback win over Leo Santos in his last fight. The bookies opened up Puelles as the favorite here, but the line quickly flipped and Guida is now the slight favorite in this one.
