Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 277:
- The main event of Bellator 277 is the rematch between Bellator featherweight champion AJ McKee and former champ Patricio Pitbull. These two men last year at Bellator 263 and McKee won the fight by first-round submission. Due to Pitbull’s body of work in Bellator, where he is considered by many to be the best home-grown fighter the promotion has ever developed along with Michael Chandler, he is being given the respect of an immediate rematch here. That being said, it’s hard not to feel like the fight will go the same as the first one. McKee is a perfect 18-0 in MMA and there’s no reason to doubt him now. Pitbull has a chance to beat anyone on any given night, but all signs are pointing to McKee winning this rematch too.
- The co-main event is the Bellator light heavyweight tournament finals between champion Vadim Nemkov and challenger Corey Anderson. Both men have run the table in the tournament so far to get to this point, and this should be a great fight. Nemkov is the champ so he deserves to be favored, but given how well Anderson has been performing since joining Bellator, he is definitely a live dog and it shouldn’t surprise anyone if he wins this title fight.
